Registered Republicans in Florida Close to 900,000

The same week that the Biden campaign announced an initiative to flip Florida blue is the same week that support for the Republican Party has reached the highest it's been. At the time of this writing, the Republican Party has a lead of 889,569 registered Republicans over Democrats. Heading into the upcoming election, Democrats also stand to lose two counties if the momentum continues.

The Biden campaign announced this week that it was positive it could flip Florida blue. Citing Amendment 4 being on the ballot in November, the Biden campaign assured that abortion could expand Democratic influence in the state. However, since March, Democrats have lost closed to 1,000 voters, and Republicans have gained an estimated 30,000.

Republicans are also close to flipping two counties red. Hillsborough county is only 0.98% in Decmorats' favor, which is a margin of 8,064 votes. Madison county is current at 1.14% in Democrats' favor, which is a margin of 134.

Republicans currently outnumber Democrats in 56 out of 67 counties, which could soon become 58 if Hillsborough and Madison flip.

Commenting on the update, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) shared on social media that "prior to 2021, FL never had more registered Republicans than Democrats."

"Now, a million voter R registration advantage is within reach. Hillsborough (Tampa) is about to flip from D to R, which will mean every county in the Tampa Bay market has a R advantage in this previously 'swing' region of the state."

Both Hillsborough county and Madison county have been on the trajectory of becoming Republican, and the state  has become more of a Republican stronghold since the 2016 presidential election.

The state voted for President Donald Trump (R) in the 2020 election, and it also overwhelmingly reelected Governor DeSantis in 2022. Although DeSantis has grown in popularity in the state, voters overwhelmingly supported President Trump in the Republican primary.

President Trump currently leads President Joe Biden (D) in 6 of the 7 most competitive states.
