Miami, Florida- A recent investigative report by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has unveiled hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are being permitted to fly into Florida.
The flight arrivals originate from a program President Joe Biden launched in October 2022, where potentially unlawful immigrants from select nations are flown into the US and subsequently released on parole.
Countries selected are Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia and Ecuador.
As part of the flight program, migrants from selected countries are allowed to board US commercial airplanes without showcasing valid government ID.
The rationale for the program was to diminish the number of individuals unlawfully crossing the border.
CIS calculated the arrivals by extracting publicly available information on U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) website, filtered to see Office of Field Operations (OFO) airport customs officer encounters with the nationalities chosen to receive this benefit.
According to the CIS’ findings, over three hundred thousand illegal migrants arrived at airports in South Florida through President Biden’s direct-flight parole-and-release program.
US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) had previously flagged the migrant flight program as potentially unlawful in a letter sent to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last month.
Senator Scott called the DHS policy a “brazen attempt by the Biden administration to undermine U.S. law.”
Scott again criticized Biden’s migratory policy via X this week.
“Unacceptable. I will not allow Biden to put Floridians in danger by flying unvetted illegal aliens into our state,” said Scott.
ISIS-K’s recent terrorist attacks in Moscow increased wariness over potential security liabilities posed by a porous border.
Previously, Scott has commented on some of the parole eligible states’ cooperation with US adversaries, such as Iran and Hezbollah, as areas of concern.
Consequently, Scott claimed “DHS has intentionally made our country more vulnerable to adversaries” through their parole policies.
“If ISIS is attacking in Russia, they can attack here,” said Scott.
