Florida Democrats Want YOU to run for Office

Share

As the state grows redder by the hour, and as Democrat influence dwindles by the second, Florida Democrats are looking for Floridians to run for office. This week, Florida's Democratic Party launched a campaign encouraging people to run for open seats. The candidate recruitment campaign will include billboards and ads in four counties.

Madison, Miami-Dade, Polk, and Seminole county woke up this week with billboards and ads urging people to run for office. The advertisements are part of an effort from Florida Democrats to recruit candidates as Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried's Take Back Florida initiative sees mixed results.

On X, the party shared a post calling on its followers to tag someone that should run for office, and now the Republican Party of Florida is responding to the campaign effort.

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Powers released a statement, saying that "Floridians are so turned off by the Florida Democrats radical agenda that they have had to spend tens of thousands on billboards just to attempt to find candidates. While Nikki Fried is lighting her limited campaign cash on fire, Republicans are growing our registration lead, flipping local elections, and delivering for Florida's citizens."

Earlier this week, Chairwoman Fried announced that "there are 27 uncontested House seats with no Democrat running and it is up to us to change that."  However, the numbers show that Republicans could expand their influence in the state even further, which could spell trouble not only for Democrats in the state but also for Chairwoman Fried's leadership role in the party.

Florida Democrats are banking on Amendment 3 and Amendment 4 encouraging voters to side with Democrats on the ballot. Though the Biden administration launching an effort to flip Florida blue, the state is poised to vote for President Donald Trump (R) in the upcoming election.
