TALLAHASSEE, FL—Amidst a staggering voter deficit to Republicans and a viral new Florida-themed Taylor Swift song, the Florida Democratic Party is taking a new route to get out the vote: appealing to "Swifties".

In partnership with members of the Democratic Youth Council, party leadership will launch next week a Swift-themed organization called "Florida Dems!!!", aimed at engaging young voters before the November general election and nicknamed after Swift's new song "Florida!!!".

"Join our organizing call with Florida Democratic Chair Nikki Fried and special guests on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. for the launch of the Florida Dems!!! – The Organizing Tour, a youth-led movement powered by Swifites to register voters," the event's site says.

Next week's organizing call will provide training on voter registration and vote-by-mail, in hopes of ushering in the next wave of young Democratic voters.

"Florida Dems, we are in our organizing era! Together, we will close the gap and win in November," the page said, referencing Swift's 18-month, worldwide "Eras Tour".

At midnight on Friday, Swift dropped her newest album entitled 'The Tortured Poets Department", including the song "Florida!!!" amongst its 31 other tracks.

Swift calls the state "one hell of a drug", pleading, "I need to forget, so take me to Florida. I've got some regrets, I'll bury them in Florida.”

Because Swift endorsed both Biden and a Tennessee Democratic candidate in 2020, Florida Democrats are hopeful the star will use her platform leading up to the 2024 election to engage her biggest audience—youths—in politics.

This move, Democrats hope, will be key to "closing the gap" and winning Florida back from the Republicans, as Democrats are now suffering a near-900,000 voter registration deficit to Republicans—making any and all voter registration events crucial for Florida liberals.

Earlier this week, Democrats launched a campaign encouraging people to run for open seats via billboards and ads in four counties with Republicans running for office unopposed: Madison, Miami-Dade, Polk, and Seminole.

Swift, who has more than 98.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, recently came under fire from far-right groups accusing her of being a Pentagon "psy-op" whose mission is to re-elect Biden.

The Pentagon denied this.
