Scott Receives Endorsement of Cammack, Rubio in Senate Reelection Bid

Share

The reelection campaign for Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) to the Senate has gained momentum as the 2024 elections in November inch closer. The former Florida Governor has received the endorsements of his fellow Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL), boosting his already high number of endorsements.

Sen. Rubio publicly endorsed his colleague Sen. Scott on St. Patrick's Day, which was shared by the campaign on X (formerly Twitter).

"Thank you @marcorubio for your endorsement! Proud to work with you to fight for Florida families while holding Biden and the Democrats accountable for their reckless attempts to destroy our great nation. I look forward to continuing our partnership to deliver results for the people of Florida and put America first!" Sen. Scott tweeted.

A statement from Sen. Rubio appears as a graphic on the tweet, calling Scott "an outstanding Governor" of Florida and saying he would "look forward to him continuing to be a close partner with me in the Senate."

Similarly, Rep. Cammack praised Scott as someone who "always shows up for the Sunshine State, whether it is for communities recovering from natural disasters or for our producers struggling under inflation and increased regulations."

Scott's tweet thanking Rep. Cammack for the endorsement also referenced the recent resolution signaling support for in vitro fertilization (IVF) earlier in March, which the tweet said had " life-changing impacts on families."

"I'm honored to have the endorsement of my friend @Kat_Cammack. We recently introduced a resolution to support IVF and its life-changing impacts on families, and I am proud to work with her on behalf of Floridians!" the full tweet read.

The Florida Senator faces off against former Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL) in the race to retain his seat and retains a narrow edge over her at three points, according to Public Policy Polling, as reported by Five Thirty-Eight. However, the poll only goes back to the beginning of March, and no more recent data can be verified.

Nevertheless, the endorsements of high-profile Republicans like Rubio and Cammack are bound to throw weight behind Scott's campaign.
