Republicans Dominate Election Turnout in Florida Counties

Share

Republicans are dominating election turnout in counties holding elections alongside presidential primary. With President Donald Trump (R) already the presumptive nominee, Republicans are looking to expand their political terrain in the upcoming 2024 election.

Statistics for Broward County, Palm Beach County, Pinellas County, and Orange County are proving to be effective for Republicans in election turnout. With polls closing at 7:00 P.M., Broward County is showing 75% to 19% for Democrats, Palm Beach County is showing 58% compared to 31% for Democrats, Pinellas County is showing 76% for Republicans to 15% for Democrats, and Orange County is showing 79% for Republicans to 15% for Democrats.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has touted the progress of the state under Republican leadership, and with influence from the Democratic party dwindling, the numbers could spell trouble for Democrats in the 2024 election.

Florida Democratic Chairwoman Nikki Fried (D), upon taking a leadership role in Florida’s Democratic Party, affirmed that the party would be changing its approach with voters, ensuring future political wins.

Former Democratic members of Congress are looking to regain seats in important elections such as Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D) vying for Senator Rick Scott (R) Senate seat, and Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith (D) is vying for a state Senate seat.

In turn, Democratic stalwarts in the state are facing unseating efforts like Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost (D).

In 2022, Rep. Frost became the youngest and first member of Generation Z that was elected to Congress. He won the seat by nearly 25 points over Calvin Wimbish, the Republican candidate. In the upcoming election, Willie J. Montague (R) is challenging Rep. Frost for Florida’s 10th Congressional seat, charging that his priorities are “jobs, education, and border security.”

“I could not let myself seeing Maxwell Frost just glide into a second term, knowing how ineffective he is being a representative for this district. We just have to have somebody that really has a backbone to go against someone as radically left as he is.”

As of this afternoon, the advantage has widened.
