Mast Attributes UN Resolution to Biden Appeasing Far-Left

The United Nations Security Council has called on an immediate ceasefire in the war between Israel and Gaza, also calling on the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages. The United States did not vote on the resolution, choosing instead to abstain from voting. This has not only drawn criticism from Israel's government, but U.S. lawmakers are also weighing in. Florida Rep Brian Mast (R) denounced the UN resolution, calling it an attempt by President Joe Biden (D) to "APPEASE far-left activists."

U.M. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres commented on social media, saying that "this resolution must be implemented" and that "failure would be unforgivable."

The decision to abstain from voting has drawn criticism from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, arguing that "the US has backed down from its consistent stance in the Security Council since the beginning of the war."

In response to the prime minister's comments, White House spokesperson John Kirby commented that no change of U.S. policy has occurred, expressing that "our vote does not, and I repeat does not represent a shift in policy. Nothing has changed about our policy. Nothing."

Rep. Roy, who's recently been heavily critical of Republicans in Congress, again took issue with the party, questioning members' vote of approving the "Swamp Omnibus."

"The failure to veto the UN Security Council call for ceasefire by Israel - & instead abstain - is unconscionable. Why did the House GOP just vote to fund the UN & Biden? Dunno - ask the Wall Street Journal... I'm sure they can explain..." he wrote.

Florida Rep. Brian Mast (R) also weighed in on the issue, directing blame at President Biden. He accused the president of trying "to APPEASE far-left activists by letting the United Nations pass a 'ceasefire' resolution that makes NO MENTION of HAMAS."

"What followed was predictable. Hamas terrorists REJECTED a deal to free hostages and began firing even more rockets at Israel civilians," he added.

"Joe Biden abandoned our allies."
