Scott Says Democrats Must 'Find Somebody Better' Than Biden After Special Counsel Report

The report by Special Counsel Robert Hur declining to charge President Biden for taking classified documents on the grounds of senility has fueled speculation about the 2024 Election. In a recent appearance on Fox Business's Bottom Line, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) gave his take on the development, saying Democrats should "find somebody better" to replace Biden.

Hur's report calling Biden a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" was vociferously attacked by the President, who claimed his "memory was fine" in a recent address. However, Vice President Kamala Harris had also stated she was "ready to serve" if Biden was removed via the 25th Amendment or resigned for health reasons.

Sen. Scott called this "the bad one-two punch," adding that Hur's remarks do not bode well for Biden's position as Commander in Chief.

"The Democrats, what they ought to do is go through a real primary process and find somebody better because Joe cannot do the job, and by the way, his policies are horrible," Sen. Scott added, citing polls in which 75% of voters have said they felt the country was heading in the wrong direction.

Host Sean Duffy asked Scott if Democrats would be able to convince voters that Biden's investigation was politicized, despite not being prosecuted while former President Donald Trump, facing similar charges, was not.

Scott expressed doubt, saying, "Look at where Trump is in the primary. No one thinks Biden can do the job because we watched him. And we see him on television. Everyone thinks Trump can do the job because he did [emphasis author's] the job."

Co-host Dagen McDowell shifted the conversation to recent remarks by Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who called out Scott by name, saying, "Rick Scott even confuses saving — say — saving Medicare money with cutting Medicaid — Medicare, pardon me," as an example of how frequently officials misspeak to draw equivalency with Biden.

Scott laughed it off, saying, "I guess you make the big leagues when the President's Press Secretary goes after you," and pointed at Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas as "the biggest liar in the world."

Despite Scott's accusation, House Republicans failed to impeach Mayorkas, which State Representative Blaise Ingoglia (R-FL) blamed on a lack of unity within the Party.
