RPOF Endorses Trump, Scott

Over the weekend, the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) made a number of endorsements. Sharing the endorsements on social media, the RPOF endorsed President Donald Trump (R) and Senator Rick Scott (R) in their respective races.

Three lawmakers from Florida emerged for the Republican presidential nomination, but President Trump is now the sole candidate out of the sunshine state in the race. With Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) dropping out of the race, the RPOF has now endorsed President Trump for the presidency.

In a social media post, the RPOF announced that “Florida stands with President Trump!”

The RPOF further commented that “the Florida GOP proudly endorsed Trump for president,” adding that “it is time Republicans come together to DEFEAT Biden and save the future of our nation.”

Ambassador Nikki Haley (R) has assured that she will remain in the race despite poor showing thus far. However, President Trump has called on her to exit the race and for Republicans to come together behind his candidacy.

In the senatorial race, the RPOF endorsed Senator Scott, enthusiastically sharing that they “look forward to supporting his efforts to secure a HUGE victory this November!” Senator Scott faces the possibility of going against Florida Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D), who has launched a senatorial campaign after being voted out of the House in the 2022 midterm election.

At the end of last year, Senator Scott endorsed President Trump, highlighting that his support for the president dates back to 2016.

“I endorsed him in 2016, and I worked with him well when I was governor and in the Senate,” Senator Scott told NBC News. “When you look at what is going on in the world today, this would not be happening if he was the president,” Senator Scott added.

A majority of Florida lawmakers expressed their support for President Trump even as Governor DeSantis was in the running. Shortly after announcing his exit from the race, Governor DeSantis endorsed President Trump, but he has not mentioned if he will be campaigning with him in the sunshine state.
