NYC Cop Says Illegal Immigrants Spend Money in Florida, Commit Crime in NY

Share

As Governor DeSantis (R-FL) fights illegal immigration at the Southern Border, much of what he is doing in Florida is going unnoticed.  Recently, a former NYC law enforcement officer has claimed that illegal immigrants spend money in Florida and go to New York to commit crimes.

Former New York City police officer, John Miller, went on CNN to speak with Phil Mattingly and Erica Hill to discuss the recent release of illegal immigrants in NYC and attacks on police officers by illegal immigrants thereafter.

Miller began to explain, "These individuals I went over their rap sheets yesterday. Multiple charges. Grand larceny, robbery, attempted robbery, grand larceny, grand larceny. This particular crew operated on mopeds and scooters. They were doing organized retail theft. They were doing snatches on the street. iPhones, iPads, clothing, so on and so forth."

However, Miller added commentary on the differences between states like Florida and New York, and how that could stop incidents like the one seen in New York.  Particularly, Miller boldly asserted that New York has this problem and Florida does not because in Florida, "you go to jail."

"They’ve only been here a couple of months. So what the detectives are telling me is they have crews here that operate in New York do all their stealing, then go to Florida to spend the money and then come back. And I’m like, well, why don’t they just stay and steal in Florida? And they said, ‘Because there you go to jail.'"

Over the course of his second term, DeSantis has prioritized sending a message to the nation that law and order policies do work in combatting the influx of illegal immigration.  DeSantis went so far as to debate Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) on state policy.  Anecdotes like these only help DeSantis in the "Red State v. Blue State," battle.
