Mast Accuses Biden of 'Speaking Out of Both Sides of His Mouth' in Dealing with Iran

All warfare is based on deception, but who is doing it better in current geopolitics? Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) recently appeared on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria to discuss the Biden Administration's retaliatory strikes against Iranian proxy militias while attempting to simultaneously prevent a wider war, saying the President is "speaking out of both sides of his mouth."

Rep. Mast's observation comes on the heels of Iranian ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani recently confirming they are funding, arming, and training groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, yet denied involvement in planning their attacks or working with the Houthis in Yemen.

However, Rep. Mast pointed out that Tehran is "constantly trying to mislead, whether it is their support of the Houthis, whether it is their support of Hezbollah, of Hamas, or take your pick of any of these entities, they are always going to present that their hands are off of it."

"And the big problem that I see in all of this," Mast continued, is that while CENTCOM Commander Michael Kurilla "has the targets and capability to destroy those targets, but at the same time that he has those capabilities, he has the President constantly speaking out of both sides of his mouth, where we will kill Arabians or kill those that are participating. But then the President will say, 'No, listen, we do not want war with you, we do not want this.' Every instance is dealing with the President messing it up politically because he is going to speak out of both sides of his mouth. That is the hamstring."

Moreover, Mast stressed the need for "selective ambiguity," wherein a strike is unpredictable yet highly effective, "and you should have the fear of God in you if you provoke an American attack."

The Biden Administration, by contrast, is "going to do the bare minimum of attack," which is "a transparent weakness."

Fellow Florida Republicans and military veterans, Representatives Mike Waltz (R-FL) and Cory Mills (R-FL) have similarly blasted the Biden Administration's approach to Iran, with both saying strikes should be supplemental to crippling the Islamic republic financially through tougher oil sanctions, thereby preventing their ability to arm, train, and fund their proxy militias in the first place.
