Florida Rep. Alina Garcia (R) has officially announced that she will be running for Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Election. In an exclusive interview with The Floridian, Rep. Garcia announced that she would not be running for reelection and instead would be setting her sight elsewhere.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, Rep. Garcia announced that the paperwork had been filed and the race was on.

“I have happily served our community for over 30 years, and I am looking to be your first elected supervisor of elections,” she said.

The state of the upcoming elections has been an important topic of concern as some voters have questioned if the elections will be fair.

In an effort to quell those fears, Rep. Garcia affirms that her election will make sure that voters can trust the election process as they should.

“Our elections must have integrity, they must be fair, they must be transparent.”

In an exclusive interview with the Floridian last week, Rep. Garcia shared that she would not be running for reelection in the Florida House. Instead, her “fight to preserve our American way of life” would continue in the race to become the next Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections.

“During my time in the Florida Legislature, I have had the privilege and honor to work alongside Governor Ron DeSantis, Speaker Renner and many family-oriented lawmakers to promote and vote to pass important legislation that has improved the lives of all Floridians,” she said last week.

Her goal in becoming the next Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Election is “to instill a much-needed climate of integrity and transparency that all the residents of Miami-Dade expect and deserve whenever they go to cast their vote on election day.”
