It was only a matter of time before Governor Ron DeSantis came to his senses and dropped out of the 2024 Republican presidential primary race and endorsed former President Donald Trump. As polls show him severely lagging in New Hampshire, Nevada, and North Carolina, Gov. DeSantis decided to drop out of the race.
It was the right move.
DeSantis said he couldn't keep telling supporters to donate to his campaign if "We don't have a clear path to victory."
"It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. They watched his presidency get stymied by relentless resistance and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him," DeSantis said Sunday. "While I have had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent, Joe Biden. That is clear," said DeSantis.
He did the right thing and can now look back at his campaign mistakes, particularly his hiring of his online communications staffers, including Christina Pushaw. Pushaw's 10 days of campaign experience was not a match for seasoned campaign veterans, and even buckled when confronted by Laura Loomer.
"Ron DeSantis should drop out today, strongly endorse President Trump, and come back here to Florida and work on the homeowners insurance crisis," stated Trump supporter Catturd.
This is great news for Florida. Floridians can now look forward to DeSantis being focused on state issues.
Ron is a great governor, and 2028 is not too far off.
