The state of Texas was recently blamed for the drowning deaths of three illegal migrants near the border by the Biden Administration, only for the accusation to fall apart after further investigation. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) said, "It does not surprise me" that the White House seemingly lied about the incident in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit, further calling it "another example of the Biden Administration just lying through its teeth."
Over the weekend, three illegal migrants, two of them children, drowned attempting to cross the Rio Grande. The Biden Administration claimed the Texas Military Department (TMD) prevented Border Patrol agents from rescuing the migrants. However, the TMD pointed out that the bodies were already being recovered by Mexican authorities by the time Border Patrol requested access to the area.
Rep. Gimenez said the White House's initial reaction only confirmed what he has "always said: You never listen to the Biden Administration says because they lie all the time."
"And so now they are saying that an hour after this woman and I guess two kids unfortunately drowned, that we were informed by the Mexican authorities [that] somehow [the Department of Homeland Security] was going to save them. And so again, another example of the Biden Administration just lying through its teeth. That is all they do all the time," Rep. Gimenez continued.
Additionally, the Florida Congressman ripped recent comments made by Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who said vegetables would "rot" if illegal immigrants were not there to pick them, calling the remark "kind of elitist" and said if there is a labor shortage in this country, immigrants must come legally.
"That is really the whole crux of the matter," Gimenez said, "It has to be legal immigration, and what the Biden Administration is allowing is massive illegal immigration."
More to the point, Gimenez said in December that the Biden Administration's allowance of "massive illegal immigration" is intentional.
"This is not because they are incompetent. They want this to happen. You cannot be this dumb. We know what we need to do; they just refuse to do it," he said, although he could not posit why.
