Donalds Says Cori Bush 'Up to No Good,' Questions Ilhan Omar's Allegiance to U.S.

Is the Democratic "Squad" crumbling? Representative Cori Bush (D-MO) is under investigation for alleged abuse of campaign funds. Meanwhile, Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is under fire for seemingly putting her native Somalia above the United States. Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) sat down with The Floridian for his take on recent events, expressing interest in where the Rep. Bush investigation leads and questioning Rep. Omar being in Congress and allegiance to the U.S.

Axios described Rep. Bush allegedly funneled campaign funds for private security, which included retaining her husband as part of her security team. The Missouri Congresswoman denies any wrongdoing.

Rep. Donalds' interest in Bush under investigation is "because this Department of Justice has turned a blind eye to a lot of Democrat malfeasance," while former President Donald Trump is facing 91 felony charges from three different sources.

"[If] you [are] Hunter Biden, they were going to hide violations of [the Foreign Agents Registration Act] under a misdemeanor gun charge, which is really a felony," he added as a means of illustrating the apparent double standard.

As a result, Bush under investigation means "she was really up to no good."

Meanwhile, Rep. Omar has faced controversy for a recent speech where she told constituents that the United States would not allow the breakaway Republic of Somaliland to achieve international recognition or gain coastal access through Ethiopia. Her wording further suggested she was putting Somalia's interests above those of the United States, which has drawn fire from conservatives.

"We are an organized society, brothers and sisters – people of the same blood. People who know they are Somalians first, Muslims second, who protect one another," she said.

"I think that is wrong, but that is typical for Ilhan," Rep. Donalds told us, adding, "She is always wrong about this stuff."

Moreover, he questioned why Omar is in Congress if she feels more strongly about this issue than issues within the United States.

Donalds nonetheless did acknowledge that "[Omar] has a lot of Somalis in her district up in Minnesota, I get it."

But your job as a Representative is to reflect the wills and desires of your district but also uphold the Constitution, promote our country, and protect our country. I mean, if Somalia comes before America, why are you here," Donalds concluded.

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) recently called for the Minnesota Congresswoman's expulsion from the House and for her to be denaturalized and deported.
