President Joe Biden (D) is facing mounting criticism after three Americans were killed and dozens more injured during an Iranian-backed drone strike in northeast Jordan.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) released a statement yesterday, January 28, announcing the attack and initial casualties.

An update to the original statement revealed the total number of casualties remained at three while the number of injured US personnel rose to 34.

According to CENTCOM, eight personnel were badly wounded and were evacuated to separate facilities to receive intensive care.

Prior to yesterday’s attack, CENTCOM reported how the Houthis, another Iranian-backed militant group, have struck commercial vessels belonging to the US and other nations.

In response to the attack, President Biden stated he joins the families “in grieving the loss of these warriors in this despicable and wholly unjust attack.”

Biden pledged the US “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing.”

This latest attack against Americans abroad has incinerated many of Biden’s political opponents and led them to question his role as commander-in-chief.

Representative Cory Mills (R-FL), a former member of the US Army, lamented the attacks while claiming the deaths were caused by Biden’s weak Middle-East foreign policy.

“This was unfortunately an inevitable tragedy resulting from this administration’s weakness that has invited increased attacks and aggression by our adversaries,” said representative Mills.

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) echoed similar sentiment, claiming Iran is being emboldened through Biden’s poor decision-making.

Senator Scott commented “Iran is blatantly questioning U.S. strength & resolve thanks to @JoeBiden’s appeasement of the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism. It must end.”

Biden has repeatedly been accused of appeasing Iran at the expense of US interests.

The transfer of over $6 billion to Iran as part of a hostage exchange deal and Biden’s plans to renegotiate the Iran nuclear deal have prompted sundry criticism from Republicans.

Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) described Biden’s policies as having “emboldened and enriched” Iran while doing “nothing to deter Iran’s nuclear proliferation.”

The Iran nuclear deal provided the Islamic Republic of Iran with more than $100,000,000,000 in sanctions relief. Since then, Iran has surreptitiously advanced its nuclear program, with the current stages of its nuclear development unknown.
