DeSantis: Trump & Haley Afraid of ‘Tough Questions’

Share

After coming out in second place, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is not pulling any punches. Candidates have dropped out after the Iowa Caucus, and the remaining three move forward to New Hampshire, and the likelihood of the next Republican primary debate appears to be slim to none. Governor DeSantis is now knocking President Donald Trump (R) and Ambassador Nikki Haley (R) over not wanting to answer the “tough questions.”

After coming in fourth place in the Iowa Caucus, Vivek Ramaswamy (R) dropped out of the race and endorsed President Trump. On the following day, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) also dropped out of the race, but he didn’t endorse a candidate.

With three candidates left, Ambassador Haley announced that she would not be taking part in the next debate moderated by ABC News in New Hampshire. The reason why she wouldn’t take part in it because President Trump would not be joining them on the debate stage.

Before the debate was cancelled, Ambassador Haley had commented that “the next debate I do will either be with Donald Trump or with Joe Biden.”

In response to Ambassador Haley’s threat to not attend the debate, Governor DeSantis released a statement, accusing President Trump and Ambassador Haley of not wanting to debate to avoid answering the “tough questions.”

“Nikki Haley is afraid to debate because she doesn’t want to answer the tough questions such as how she got rich off Boeing after giving them millions in taxpayer handouts as governor of South Carolina,” he said, adding that “the reality is that she is not running for the nomination, she’s running to be Trump’s VP.”

“I won’t snub New Hampshire voters like both Nikki Haley and Donald Trump, and plan to honor my commitments,” Governor DeSantis continued, affirming that he will be “debating two empty podiums in the Granite State this week.”
