Scott Blasts Bidenomics During Holiday Season

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has provided monthly his reaction to the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) numbers for November. The figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show that inflation has continued to be prevalent in American life. Sen. Scott believes “Bidenomics” is the attempted cure that has ended up worse than the disease.

Sen. Scott gave sympathy to Florida residents dealing with rising costs while pointing his finger at President Joe Biden (D) and his economic policies.

“As small businesses prepare for this holiday season, there is one thing I keep hearing from folks in Florida: how the heck are we going to afford it? Right now small businesses and hardworking families in Florida are struggling just to make ends meet and unless we stop Bidenomics, there is no end in sight,” said Sen. Scott.

He continued, accusing President Biden and his administration of gaslighting the American people.

“While the Biden administration continues to lie about inflation, Florida families and small businesses are paying the price: forking over $1,069 more every month just to keep up the way they did before Biden got elected,” said Scott. “I grew up poor, lived in public housing, and watched my mom struggle to make ends meet. It makes me furious to see so many going through that same hardship, especially during the holidays.”

The Florida senator concluded by declaring that fiscal responsibility is the remedy for the problem at hand.

“We need fiscal sanity now and I won’t stop fighting until we end Washington’s wasteful, reckless spending sprees that keep fueling Biden’s inflation nightmare,” Scott said.

Prices of normal household items and products such as beef, cleaning supplies, and coffee have risen as high as 25%. Additionally, PPI has risen 17.4% since President Biden was sworn in on Jan. 20, 2021.

Sen. Scott’s No Budget No Pay Act made the annual National Taxpayers Union (NTU) “No Brainers” list for the year 2023. The bill would “prohibit Members of Congress from receiving their salaries if they fail to pass a concurrent budget resolution and the required appropriations bills by the start of each fiscal year.”

Regarding the bill, Sen. Scott mentioned that Washington is “failing the American people” with its trillion dollars in debt.

“Our nation is over $31 trillion in debt after years of Washington failing the American people and shirking its responsibility of passing a real, balanced budget that prioritizes the needs of American families,” said Sen. Scott. “Now more than ever, we need to bring fiscal sanity back to Washington, and that starts with holding Congress accountable to do one of its most basic duties: passing a budget.”

Senators Mike Braun (R-IN), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Katie Britt (R-AL) joined Sen. Scott in the bipartisan effort.
