Ramaswamy Withdraws From Colorado GOP Primary Ballot, DeSantis Refuses to

President Donald Trump (R) being removed from the Colorado GOP primary ballot has sparked Republican outcry across the political spectrum. Moreover, a potential appeal is likely to ensue. However, President Trump’s challengers are now responding to Colorado's Supreme Court decision. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has pledged to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary ballot until President Trump’s candidacy is restored.

Taking to social media to respond to Colorado’s Supreme Court ruling to remove President Trump from the GOP primary ballot, Ramaswamy is calling on the rest of the Republican primary challengers to follow in his footsteps and withdraw from the ballot.

During an interview with Newsmax, Gov. Ron DeSantis said that he would not withdraw his name from the Colorado ballot because the move would play into the hands of Democrats.

In the video, Ramaswamy calls the decision “a bastardization of the 14^th amendment to our U.S. Constitution.”

He goes on to explain that section 3 of the 14^th amendment “was designed to bar confederate members – people who switched to the confederacy – from actually being able to serve. That’s very different than what’s at issue here to say the least.”

“We the people select our leadership, not the unelected elite class in the back of palace halls. That’s old-world Europe, not the United States,” Ramaswamy added.

In the caption, Ramaswamy reiterates his pledge, writing “I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary ballot until Trump is also allowed to be on the ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley do the same immediately – or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver which will have disastrous consequences for our country.”

Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb has commented on a potential appeal of the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling, saying, “I think this case will be handled quickly. I think it could be 9-0 in the Supreme Court for Trump.”

Cobb commented that “the law is clear.”

Ramaswamy is the first challenger to respond to the ruling, but Florida Republicans have been swift in their responses.
