Gimenez Reacts to New 'Biden Family Criminal Enterprise' Indictments

Share

First Son Hunter Biden has been indicted on 9 news tax-related charges as the House's impeachment inquiry continues revealing more information. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) discussed the indictment and what this means for the investigation in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying, "This is part of the Biden family criminal enterprise," and, "We are just hitting the tip of the iceberg."

Host Maria Bartiromo pointed out that Hunter's defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, argued, "If Hunter’s last name was anything other than Biden, the charges in Delaware, and now California, would not have been brought."

Rep. Gimenez replied this only proved "We need to keep following this, where it leads, and a lot of it, unfortunately, is leading to the Biden family, the brother [Jim], and the President himself."

The new charges come just before Hunter's expected testimony before Congress and could complicate his appearance.

"If he does not show up, he could be found in contempt of Congress," said Rep. Gimenez, "And that leads to other charges and other legal problems for Hunter. It may be very difficult for him to show up and try to explain where all this money came from and why this money came to him."

The Florida Congressman referenced the approximately 20 shell companies supposedly used by the Bidens to launder money taken from foreign sources, adding, "The more that [Hunter] talks, the more avenues will now be open for additional investigation. I think we are just hitting the tip of the iceberg here, I do not think we have gotten to the bottom yet."

In the previous broadcast, Bartiromo spoke with Hunter's former business partner Tony Bobulinski, who accused President Biden of "blatantly lying to the American people and the world" about being involved in his son's business, claiming to have met Joe Biden for business purposes.

Gimenez replied, "Joe Biden is the brand, and the only reason that Hunter Biden was making all of this money that he had to evade taxes for was because his father was the Vice President of the United States," agreeing with Bobulinski that Joe "has been lying to the American people," which he has done for 40 years.

Bartiromo finally asked Gimenez if he believed the countries from whom Biden has supposedly taken bribes influenced his policy decisions as President.

"I have said all along that none of what President Biden has been doing since he became president makes sense unless you view it through the lens that somehow, he is compromised," Gimenez answered, echoing comments made by Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) and Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL).
