DeSantis Says ‘It’s Time to Move on’ From Trump

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has released a new advertisement, assuring that “it’s time to move on.” With the Iowa caucus drawing near, Governor DeSantis is hoping to poll well against President Donald Trump (R).

This week, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (R) announced that he was suspending his 2024 campaign. The Republican primary pool is now smaller, and the rest of the candidates are seeking to best President Trump.

Ambassador Nikki Haley (R), who’s slowly been rising in the polls, scored an endorsement from Americans for Prosperity (AFP), which was seen as helping her campaign but has now had repercussions.

Many within AFP opposed the endorsement, and those same people are now being “terminated” from working at AFP. One such individual is Chris Maidment, who was the director of grassroots operations for AFP in New Hampshire.

Opposing the endorsement, Maidment commented that “there are dozens who feel the way I do… They, for obvious reasons, don’t want to speak out but I’ve spoken with many who agree with my perspective on this and are dismayed with the endorsement.”

“It was made known to leadership well in advance of the endorsement that there would be a lot of attrition if Haley ended up being the choice,” Maidment continued.

Governor DeSantis, who has been a close second to President Trump since he entered the race, is now attempting to capitalize on the strong showing political pundits argue he had in his debate against California Governor Gavin Newsom (D).

In a new advertisement, several voters are interviewed regarding their thoughts on Governor DeSantis. With some voters sharing that they had previously voted for President Trump, the voters interviewed affirmed that they would now be voting for Governor DeSantis. One voter assured that “it’s time to move on,” taking a political jab at President Trump. Yet another voter said that “when Ron DeSantis says he’s gonna do something, he does it,” while another said that DeSantis should be the nominee because “he’s drama free.”
