Washington, D.C.- US President Joe Biden and Chinese Communist Party Leader Xi Jingping are set to meet this week on Wednesday in San Francisco, California.
In light of the meeting, Senator Rick Scott (R-Fl) has warned against the continuation of policies he alleges have appeased China’s nefarious goals of undermining US interests.
Despite claiming “Joe Biden’s weakness on Communist China is inexcusable” and listing the President’s failures on China, Senator Scott published a list of recommendations for Biden.
Scott recommended Biden demand answers regarding a bevy of issues. Among these are China’s role in the deadly fentanyl crisis, China’s role in censoring the original source of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the human rights abuses being committed by Xi’s regime.
According to Scott, the last include the “imprisonment of 1 MILLION Uyghurs who are subjected to slave labor, involuntary organ harvesting, sterilization and torture.”
Scott also urged Biden hold China accountable for their derogation of “Hong Kong's freedom, autonomy and rule of law—specifically the sham conviction of pro-democracy activist Jimmy Lai.”
As one of the most outspoken critics of the Chinese Communist Party, Scott is not too hopeful about the potential outcomes of Biden’s meeting with Xi this week.
“Communist China has chosen to be America’s enemy and NOTHING Biden says is going to change that,” said Scott via X.
Last week, Scott filed legislation to prevent transactions with Chinese digital currencies from occurring on American soil or with American companies.
Scott’s Chinese CBDC Prohibition Act would prohibit money services businesses (MSBs) from engaging in transactions involving any digital currencies issued by the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
