Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) gave his thoughts concerning Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States yesterday, calling it “an appeasement” to Communist China by President Joe Biden (D).
According to Sen. Scott, dictators should not “receive the red-carpet treatment” that President Xi received upon coming to the United States. He also called out President Biden for not standing up to Xi, referring to it as “par for the course.”
“I do not trust a word that Xi Jinping says, and neither should any American including Joe Biden. Actions speak louder than words. And Communist China’s actions have told us that they choose to be our enemy. Fentanyl produced in China has killed thousands of Americans,” Sen. Scott said. “The Chinese spy app TikTok collects Americans’ sensitive data and poisons the minds of our children. Yet, Joe Biden rolled out the red carpet and allowed Xi to spew nonsense with no pushback whatsoever.”
Moreover, the Florida senator urged Americans to vote for Republicans to take back the Senate in 2024 to “hold China accountable.”
“Joe Biden has made it clear that he will never stand up to Communist China. Next year’s election will determine the future of our country. Joe Biden’s weak leadership and appeasement of Communist China is dangerous. If we want to protect Americans and hold China accountable, we need to take back the Senate and kick Joe Biden out of office,” said Scott.
Additionally, Sen. Scott appeared on Fox Business’s “Varney and Co.” to discuss the Chinese president’s historic visit.
Varney inquired on what President Biden should have done at the APEC meeting, to which Scott said he should not have held it in the first place.
"Xi has never complied with anything. Under [former President Donald] Trump, we did a trade deal with him, but he never complied with that. What I think the President ought to be doing now is stay in the Situation Room and see how he gets Americans out of Hamas' hands. We have had 33 Americans killed and at least ten American hostages. And what is he doing to make sure that Americans are protected over there? That is what I would have been spending my time on, not going to see some liar," Scott concluded.
According to NBC Bay Area, homeless people were “cleared out” to make for a more visually pleasant visit for the Chinese president.
