Rubio Says Hamas Sympathizers 'Chanting Stupid Things' are an 'Immediate Threat' to U.S.

WASHINGTON—Senator Marco Rubio is echoing FBI Director Christopher Wray’s recent warning that the October 7th Hamas terrorist attack against Israel could inspire U.S.—based jihadists to conduct attacks in American cities.

"We assess that the actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration the likes of which we haven’t seen since ISIS launched its so-called caliphate years ago," Wray said during his testimony at a Senate Homeland Security Committee.

In an interview with The Floridian, Senator Rubio expressed his concern that the “most immediate threat” Americans face are those Palestinian or Hamas sympathizers who will stop tearing down posters of kidnapped Israelis, stop “chanting stupid things,” and instead start killing people.

“The most immediate threat for terrorism we have today are people that decide this week they’re not going to tear down posters and march chanting stupid things anymore, they are going to take the next step and actually kill someone,” said Sen. Rubio.

The radical Islamic threat in the U.S. is very real.

Sen. Rubio, who recently was questioned by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) for his correct assertion that Hamas broke an existing ceasefire with Israel, said that anyone who chants “From the River to the Sea,” as was the case with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D), is “basically calling for attacking and killing Jews.”

“When you are in the streets chanting things like “Intifada” or “From the River to the Sea” which are basically calling for attacking and killing Jews,” added Rubio.

“Just because you want to live in America doesn’t mean you don’t sympathize with Hamas. Just because you want to live in America doesn’t mean you’re pro-Western. Just because you want to live in America, and move to America, or immigrate to America, does not mean you’ve left behind your views about Israel.”—Sen. Marco Rubio
