Washington, D.C.- Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has filed three counterterrorism bills aimed at tackling terrorist and anti-Semitic activity both at home and abroad.
First, Senator Rubio and colleagues floored an initiative to prevent the US State Department or any official US entity from officially recognizing the present Taliban-led afghan government.
Next, given the climbing rates of anti-Semitic activity on college campuses, Rubio introduced a bill that would require Universities investigate such activity and refrain from supporting it.
Called the Ending Subsidies for Pro-Terrorist Activities on Campus Act, the act would prevent Universities from passively observing anti-Semitic behavior but rather respond to it.
“The last thing that students should be worried about is a threat to their safety. Shamefully, some students and faculty members are supporting an organization that has pledged to commit violence until Israel no longer exists,” said Rubio via press release.
Finally, Rubio also drafted the Terrorist Inadmissibility Codification Act to bar individuals tied to Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) from entering the US.
Individuals who directly participate in, endorse, or espouse FTOs and their activities would be denied Visas into the US.
“As we continue to face an increase in pro-Hamas sentiment, it’s in our national security interest to ensure foreign nationals seeking to harm our nation are prohibited entry. Those that are already here must be removed,” explained Rubio.
Last month, Rubio requested President Joe Biden revoke the visas of foreign nationals residing in America who expressed support for Hamas and their war against Israel.
Rubio’s statements are directed at professors, students, and any individuals in the US with a temporary residence visa, who publicly support Hamas or others in their war against Israel.
Rubio’s initiative follows Hamas’ brutal attacks on Israel, which Palestinians in the West Bank and some individuals across the world, including the US, celebrated.
