Nunez Says Polls 'Snapshot of Moment in Time'

The Presidential campaign of Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has banked on building likeability and credibility in order to surpass former President Donald Trump, who continues to dominate the polls in the Republican primary. Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez (R-FL) recently spoke with Fox and Friends First on the endorsement of Governor Kim Reynolds (R-IA) and how polls are "a snapshot in a moment of time."

A recent CNN poll found that Trump currently maintains an edge over President Joe Biden (D) by four percentage points (49% to 45%). Similarly, a New York Times/Siena poll shows Trump ahead of Biden in five battleground states (Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania).

Lt. Gov. Nunez expressed skepticism, saying, "I do not know that we necessarily believe any poll from CNN," and reiterated the DeSantis campaign's efforts to get their message across.

"Which is why this recent endorsement by Governor Reynolds of Iowa was so important for us," Lt. Gov. Nunez continued, "I think she recognizes that she did a courageous thing. She could have stayed on the sidelines, but she supported and endorsed Governor DeSantis because she has worked closely with him."

Moreover, she said that "polls are a snapshot in a moment of time. But what we believe is that the voters will speak loudly, and they will speak on Election Day, and I firmly believe that they will support Ron DeSantis."

Host Todd Piro suggested there was a "subtext" of fear that Trump could lose to Biden, which seems contradictory to recent polls.

Nunez replied that watching the polls will continue because "we will see a lot of ebbs and flows in this campaign."

"Joe Biden, let us be clear, is a terrible candidate. But we firmly believe that Ron DeSantis is the only individual that can deliver success electorally like he did here in Florida, but he has the vision and can serve two terms to really unwind all the dangerous policies that Biden has really been spearheading at the border, economically, and from the education standpoint. And so Governor DeSantis has shown that Florida can, indeed, be a model for the rest of the country. He has really made sure that we have delivered the most conservative, common-sense agenda for Floridians, and he wants to do that for Americans throughout the country as well," Nunez concluded.
