More Muddy Waters: Head of DeSantis Never Back Down PAC Resigns

More trouble in paradise for Ron DeSantis

As if the 2024 Presidential race could not get any more interesting, the CEO of the biggest Ron DeSantis super PAC, "Never Back Down," has resigned.

Chris Jankowski ran Never Back Down, who arguably backed DeSantis' political ambitions more zealously than any other PAC in the entire race.  Some media outlets have accused Never Back Down as having pushed the legal and ethical boundaries with restrictions on colluding with campaigns.

One former DeSantis state directed told The Floridian that there was clear collusion between the PAC and DeSantis during his stint with the campaign.

But like many other facets of the Ron DeSantis campaign, there may be divisions at play that have made this crucial resignation come to fruition.

Jankowski publicly stated after the news hit, "Never Back Down's main goal and sole focus has been to elect Governor Ron DeSantis as President. Given the current environment, it has become untenable for me to deliver on the shared goal and that goes well beyond a difference of strategic opinion."

Just before Jankowski's resignation, a new PAC called, "Fight Right" was founded.  The group has reportedly targeted Ambassador Nikki Haley (R-SC), standing in third place, right behind Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).

This is not DeSantis' first rodeo with internal issues inside and around his campaign.  The DeSantis campaign previously changed campaign managers and laid off around a third of his campaign staff because of financial restraints.

Although early 2023 predicted a blood bath of a primary race between DeSantis and President Trump (R), many now are waiting for DeSantis to jump out of the race any day to spare himself further money wasted and popularity lost.
