Mills Comes Out in Favor of Banning TikTok

Share

Since Hamas's terror attack against Israel on October 7th, antisemitic and pro-Hamas videos have gained traction on TikTok, including accounts of young people who praised Osama bin Laden's "Letter to the American People." As a result, more and more members of Congress are calling for the social media app to be banned, including Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria.

Host Maria Bartiromo began showing a clip from an earlier discussion with Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) about how China boosts anti-Western, anti-American propaganda on TikTok, which is part of their soft war against the United States.

Rep. Mills agreed, saying, "The evolution of warfare has gone well beyond kinetics, and it is to the economic resources and cyber-based warfare platforms. We know that China is utilizing TikTok to lead a generational revolution. We know that it is a culture of warfare that we are seeing at home, and we know that China has advanced time and time again on their propaganda misinformation warfare campaign, to which America and the rest of the countries have never responded."

Additionally, he reminded viewers that the geopolitical alliance between China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea is an "axis of evil" far more dangerous than simple strength of arms because they intend to overtake the United States through more insidious means.

"This is about them going after the US dollar as the global currency. This is about them utilizing the petrodollar, and the [World Health Organization] and [World Economic Forum] to try and go after the West. This is about the economic coercion that goes on in the Western Hemisphere that tries to block our Panama Canal for trade tariffs, the Belt and Road Initiative expansionism. We have to start waking up to realize that if we want these wars to stop, we want this antisemitic language to stop, we have to ban TikTok, but we also have to recognize China as an actual adversary," Mills concluded.
