Luna says $40k Check for Biden is 'Smoking Gun'

Share

The House Oversight Committee's impeachment inquiry into President Biden has found an explosive new piece of evidence: a personal check from James Biden to Joe for $40,000, money originally from China. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) said in a recent appearance on Fox's Jesse Watters Primetime that this could "absolutely" be the smoking gun.

"What we are seeing coming out now, especially with those screenshots of those texts, is very interesting. The more evidence we come out with, the more [Democrats] want to change the terms," Rep. Luna said, citing 18 US Code 201, which prohibits bribery, and adding, "I think [Biden] is in big, big trouble."

Host Jesse Watters jokingly repeated Democratic counter-arguments to this new evidence, as James Biden made out the check as a "loan repayment" and asked Rep. Luna if she believed them.

"Absolutely not," Luna answered, "In fact, according to [Federal Election Commission], as well as the disclosures that we have to do as public officials, they get into the nitty-gritty of all that stuff. And so if you have a large sum of money, you have to ensure that you have an alibi of where it came from, and frankly, as we are seeing, it is very evident that his loans and his payments came from the Chinese Communist Party," she continued.

Watters then pointed out that the House Oversight Committee has only begun scratching the surface of the Biden family's bank records, as there are multiple shell companies and family members through which the money was likely laundered, as Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) spoke of in May

Luna affirmed Watters' statement, adding, "We had a Ukrainian official that came forward and basically stated that [the Bidens] were bragging at the fact that it would take investigators years to find out about how they were basically transferring this money," and that she expects to vote on impeaching Biden soon.

In fact, Luna said Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is considering moving on an impeachment trial "at the beginning of next year."
