Iowa Caucus is 'Do or Die' for Governor DeSantis

Share

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) continues to struggle in all of the national and state public opinion polls. With the Iowa Caucus inching ever so near, Political Analyst Karl Rove (R) says that it’s “do or die” for Governor DeSantis.

Ahead of the Iowa Caucus, President Donald Trump (R) might be surging in the polls, but Governor DeSantis has drawn endorsements from top Iowa legislators. In early November, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R) endorsed Governor DeSantis after first saying she would not become involved in the primary.

Since then, not only has Governor Reynolds appeared alongside Governor DeSantis at campaign events, but she has also appeared in promotional material for the DeSantis campaign.

Earlier this month, Governor Reynolds issued words to DeSantis supporters, saying that “as governor, it was my honor to welcome the candidates to Iowa for the first-in-the-nation caucus. But as a mother and a grandmother – as an American – I can’t stand on the sidelines.”

Joe Biden has turned America upside down, and we need a President who will keep AMERICA moving forward,” Governor Reynolds goes on to say, outlining that Governor DeSantis puts the people he serves first, is a proven champion for fiscal conservatism and running a thriving economy, that he is fighting for parents’ rights, and he is a consistent fighter for women and girls.

However, in a recent interview with FOX News, Rove warned that if Governor DeSantis has any hopes of defeating President Trump, “Iowa is do or die.”

“He has the support of the popular governor, Kim Reynolds. He won the support of a key leader in the evangelical community, Vander Plaats,” Rover explained, adding that if DeSantis “comes in third in Iowa, it’s very problematic for him because it doesn’t get better for him in the next two sets of contests.”

Despite sinking poll numbers, Governor DeSantis has maintained that polls don’t elect lawmakers.
