FL Republicans Push Online Resources for Parents in Need

A new Republican backed bill in the Florida Congress is pushing to establish an online hub for pregnancy and parenting resources, where struggling parents can find convenient and vital information throughout their pregnancy and parenting journey.

The legislation will bring together the forces of the Department of Health, the Agency of Health Care Administration, and the Department of Children and Families to create this platform.  The website will feature educational material, and evidence based methods on things regarding motherhood and pregnancy and parenting.

Senator Erin Grall (R-Fort Pierce) and Representative Berny Jacques (R-Seminole) are co-sponsoring the bills, SB 436 and HB 415, respectively. The officials are excited about the positive force of change this legislation will bring.

"We understand the critical need to support Florida’s pregnant women and families across the state, to ensure every child and family has an opportunity to thrive,” said Senator Grall. “By creating an online hub of available resources, our hope is we will empower individuals with the knowledge and support necessary to navigate the challenges and joys of pregnancy and parenting."

Jacques stated, "This website will be an invaluable resource for pregnant women and families in Florida.  By amassing these critical resources and reliable information in one place, we are making it easier for individuals to access the support they need during this important time in their lives."

The platform will also emphasize the importance of fatherhood and the effects of having a two parent household.  Mentorship programs designed for fathers will also be available through the website.
