Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has released a video, teasing his debate against California Governor Gavin Newsom (D). With polls indicating that Gov. DeSantis had a standout performance in the last presidential debate, the Florida governor wants to keep the momentum going with his next debate.

President Donald Trump (R) is still ahead in the polls. He far surpasses his Republican challengers and is also polling higher than President Joe Biden (D), which has raised concerns among Democrats.

On November 30th, the stage is set for a political showdown between DeSantis and Gov. Newsom. Gov. Newsom has been rumored to enter the presidential race despite trying to quiet down the chatter.

In a video released to social media, DeSantis comments on the upcoming debate, calling California “the petri dish for American leftism.”

“Everything Biden is doing, they would accelerate, and they would cause this country to collapse,” says DeSantis in the video, assuring that “that is not the future that we need.”

In contrast, DeSantis asserts that “Florida shows a model for revival.” For DeSantis, it is “a model based on freedom.”

DeSantis and Newsom have shared a rivalry that dates back to the 2022 midterm election. Sean Hannity will moderate the 90 minute debate on Fox News in Georgia.

DeSantis’ video comes the same week that South Carolina Senator Tim Scott (R) has suspended his presidential campaign. Scott has yet to provide an endorsement in the race.

Most recently, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R) endorsed DeSantis after previously commenting that she would remain objective.

Appearing alongside DeSantis in a rally in Iowa, Governor Reynolds told the crowd that voters "need a president who has the skill and the resolve to reverse the madness that we see every single day. We need someone who will fight for you and win for you. We need someone who won’t get distracted but will stay disciplined, who puts this country first and not himself. That leader is Ron DeSantis."
