DeSantis Presses Haley Over her Political Positions

Share

Ambassador Nikki Haley (R) has surged in the polls days away from the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire Primary. Though Ambassador Haley has gained a significant endorsement, she’s facing criticism from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) over her political positions.

This week, Ambassador Haley gained the endorsement of Americans for Prosperity Action, billionaire Charles Koch’s anti-Trump organizations in the Republican presidential primary. The organization did not support a president candidate in the 2016 or 2020 elections. However, for this upcoming election, the organization is staunchly standing behind Ambassador Hayley, highlighting her “sustained momentum” since she joined the race.

On Newsmax, whole speaking to Eric Bolling, Florida Governor DeSantis commented on Ambassador Haley’s recent climb in the polls and in public support.

Governor DeSantis suggested that Ambassador Haley’s political positions have “been all over the map.”

“She’s trying to signal different policies to different people,” Governor DeSantis expressed, commenting that Ambassador Haley has “really tried to ingratiate herself with the political and economic establishment, and those establishments have failed this country. Candidates that are establishment candidates will not win elections in this country nationally because of the failures of the policy.”

He warned against Ambassador Haley’s views on illegal immigration, saying that she believes “there should be no limits on immigration. It should be determined by corporations and CEOs.”

In a letter that was directed to grassroot supporters, Americans for Prosperity Action wrote that the Republican party has chosen “bad candidates who are going against America’s core principles,” adding that Democrats have responded with “extreme policies.”

The organization suggests that an estimated three-quarters of Americans are ready to move on from someone like President Donald Trump (R).

Despite the endorsement, Ambassador Haley still trails Governor DeSantis and President Trump.

Governor DeSantis is scheduled to take on California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) on November 30th.
