Wasserman Schultz Condemns Hamas Attack

Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) has issued a statement denouncing Hamas's barbaric attack on Israel last weekend.. As a co-chair of the Democratic Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, Rep. Wasserman Schultz condemned Hamas for its attack on Israel.

Since the terrorist attack over the weekend, lawmakers have quickly rushed to express their solidarity with Israel. President Joe Biden (D) has also issued remarks, condemning Hamas and expressing that the United States will stand firmly in support of Israel.

Rep. Wasserman Schultz has been a vocal critic of Hamas since reports circulated about the attack, and as a co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish relations, she, along with Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt (R) and Georgia Rep. Nikema Williams (D), made it clear this week that the United States unequivocally supports Israel.

“We stand with Israel and our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by the senseless acts of terrorism and hope to see a swift and safe return of those held hostage,” the lawmakers shared in the statement. Calling the bond between Israel and the U.S. “ironclad,” the lawmakers commented that “while we have no indication of specific domestic antisemitic threats related to the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, if the past is a guide for the future, the coming days and weeks could be a precarious time for the American Jewish community.”

The co-chairs then called on the U.S. Government, “particularly its law enforcement agencies to take swift concrete steps to protect our communities.”

American citizens have also suffered by being part of the casualties, and the U.S. Government has announced its partnership with the Israeli government to investigate reports of mssissing and dead Americans.

Wasserman Schultz shared footage this week while visiting the border of Jordan and Israel, informing that she has spent the last few days in the Middle East on an Abraham Accords CODEL.

The attack took place the morning after her arrival.
