The decision to file a motion to vacate Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) introduced by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has set the news ablaze. Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) gave his take on Fox Business's Varney & Co., saying he was "frustrated as hell" because "the people smiling right now are Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden."

Rep. Waltz said he saw where Rep. Gaetz was coming from, yet "In the military, we call this a circular firing squad." By this, he referred to the fact that both Gaetz and McCarthy would require cooperation with Democrats to oust or retain the Speaker, respectively.

"So the people smiling right now are Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden. And every minute we spend dealing with this, we are not cutting spending, securing the border, and achieving our conservative goals that we were elected to do. So I am frustrated as hell," said Rep. Waltz.

In a similar vein, Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) called Gaetz "Biden's favorite Republican" and suggested "that the Democrats, behind closed doors, when they hear "Matt Gaetz," a big smile comes on their face."

Host Stuart Varney asked Waltz if he would vote to retain McCarthy. Waltz said he would wait and see, especially as the last (official) motion to vacate was in 1910 against Illinois Republican Speaker Joseph Cannon. Additionally, Waltz reiterated the irony of Gaetz having to work with Democrats to overcome a motion to table by McCarthy.

"I just do not see that as in our interest. I think we need to get back to work. And if that means keeping Speaker McCarthy to get us back to achieving what we were elected to do, then that is what I will look to do, because otherwise, I do not see a plan. People are talking about getting getting rid of him. Well then who, and how long does that take?" Waltz continued.

Moreover, by focusing on McCarthy, as Waltz suggested, attention is pulled away from the House Oversight Committee's impeachment inquiry.

"And the biggest thing to do right now, what we are also not doing, is going after Joe Biden's corruption and uncovering what that crime family is up to because we are all talking about this rather than that," Waltz concluded.
