Washington, D.C.- House Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) introduced legislation this past week to stop the flow of US aid into Palestinian-controlled territories.

Representative Mast’s proposal would prevent funds from being sent to either the Palestinian National Authority-controlled West Bank or Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Mast’s initiative follows Hamas’ brutal attacks on Israel, which Palestinians in the West Bank widely celebrated.

Mast also recently supported efforts to investigate Special Envoy Robert Malley’s questionable ties with Iran, one of Hamas’ main funding sources.

Additionally, Mast introduced the Hamas International Financing Prevention Act late last week to sanction any entities directly financing Hamas.

The act is widely supported by both Democrat and Republican House lawmakers and is expected to pass as soon as House Republicans elect a new speaker.

“At this critical point of Israeli history, the United States must continue to unequivocally stand with our ally. Even as the left-wing media and groups throughout the U.S. try to shift the narrative to victim-blame Israel and justify the acts of terrorists murdering babies and Holocaust survivors, the United States can’t flinch in our support,” stated Mast.

Given Mast’s previous involvement with the Israeli Defense Forces, which he volunteered for following his enlistment in the United States Army, he has emerged as a leading advocate for US support to Israel.

Most recently, Mast made headlines when responding to Rashida Talib’s (D-MI) criticism of Israel.

“As the only member to serve with both the United States Army and the Israel Defense Forces, I will always stand with Israel. Tlaib’s got her flag. I got my uniform,” said Mast as he sported his IDF uniform to work last Friday.
