Moskowitz Responds to Tlaib's Palestinian Flag by Raising Israeli Flag

Share

It appears Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) has thrown a not-so-subtle jab toward his colleague Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who displayed a Palestinian flag outside of her office following the terrorist attack that occurred on Israeli soil by Hamas.

The Israeli-Hamas conflict enters its second week with thousands of lives being taken on both sides.

Seemingly in response to Rep. Tlaib’s demonstration, Rep. Moskowitz (D-FL) raised the flag of Israel outside of his office.

“New Flag added outside my office!” said Rep. Moskowitz.

Recently, Moskowitz condemned the attacks on Israel, calling it the nation’s “9/11,” adding that "It is the largest number of Jews murdered since the Holocaust."

"To see babies killed, children kidnapped, women raped next to their dead spouse, it is just horrific. To see a Holocaust survivor taken as a hostage. The folks in my community are outraged. Jews are never going back to those days, and this is barbaric behavior like we have not seen in Israel for a long time, if not ever," said Rep. Moskowitz. Additionally, he stated that the Israelis would deploy "a significant response" and that the United States will work with them to free hostages taken by Hamas.

Days later, Tlaib (D-MI) seemingly justified the attack, calling Israel an "apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance" and demanding funding for the Jewish State to stop lest "this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue."

In July, Moskowitz was asked about a House Resolution that affirmed the governing body’s support for Israel that Rep. Tlaib voted against.

"Vast amounts of Democrats around the country support Israel and the overwhelming amount of Democrats in Congress support Israel. There are 212 of us that are supportive of Israel and voted for that resolution. So if there are seven or eight of us that disagree, they are wrong, but they are entitled to their opinion," Moskowitz concluded.

In a recent interview with The Floridian, Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) stated "It is a privilege to serve in the House of Representatives, and we unequivocally stand with Israel."

Additionally, she said that "If you cannot bring yourself to denounce terrorism, you cannot bring yourself to denounce the beheading of babies and innocent children; the brutalization and rape of women; then you have a problem as a human, not just as a representative, but as a human."

Finally, Cammack concluded, saying, "If they do not denounce terrorism, they have no business serving in this chamber."
