Donalds Supports Legislation to Re-Freeze $6 Billion Allocated to Iran

After the horrifying terrorist attack in Israel committed by Hamas which left 1,200 Israelis dead and thousands wounded, Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) is calling for President Joe Biden (D) and his administration to re-freeze the $6 billion that was sent to Iran in a prisoner exchange.

In order to re-freeze the funds, Representative August Pfluger (R-TX) has introduced legislation to accomplish this task and has been backed by over 100 lawmakers.

Rep. Donalds was one of those lawmakers to provide his support for the bill.

“Iran is the leading state-sponsor of terrorism. They supplement Hamas terrorists in Gaza with $100M+ annually. They are the lifeline of Hamas. It's BEYOND TIME we re-freeze the $6B in Iranian funds that were released weeks ago by the Biden admin. Proud to cosponsor this bill,” said Rep. Donalds in a post on X.

Rep. Pflueger mentioned that the $6 billion would be used to support Iran and Hamas if “we don’t act.”

"A month ago on the anniversary of 9/11, the Biden administration unfroze $6 billion and made it available to Iran — the world’s largest state sponsor of terror — while Iran was helping Hamas plan the horrific terror attacks on Israel," said Rep. Pfluger. "This $6 billion will be used to backfill the money that Iran is paying to Hamas if we don’t act."

Former President Donald Trump had an interesting prediction of his own the day the Iran prisoner exchange deal was made public, a month before the attack on Israel.

“Can you believe that Crooked Joe Biden is giving $6 Billion to the terrorist regime in Iran? That money [will] be used for terrorism all over the Middle East, and, indeed, the World. This incompetent FOOL is absolutely destroying America. He had the audacity to announce this terrible deal today, September 11^th. To pay for hostages will lead to kidnapping, ransom, and blackmail against Americans across the globe. I freed many dozens of our people from various unfriendly countries and never paid a dime!” said Trump on Truth Social.

U.S. officials have stated that 27 Americans died in the attack committed by the Hamas terrorists.
