Byron Donalds Zealously Supports Censure of Rashida Tlaib

Share

Most Democratic politicians have sided with Israel since the horrific Hamas attacks that happened earlier this month.  However, the "Squad" in the U.S. House of Representatives has seemingly held out, especially US Rep. Rashida Tlaib (R-MI), who has continued to back Palestine's Hamas.  This has resulted in a vote to censure the Congresswoman that US Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has backed zealously.

Rep. Tlaib has unapologetically stood behind the people of Palestine.  After stating that Israel caused the infamous hospital blast in Gaza earlier this month, many of her colleagues have called for her to apologize for the statement.  It is now widely believed the IDF is not responsible for this incident and Tlaib has refused to withdraw her blame on Israel.

Tlaib's comments are not new.  Tlaib and US Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) have been the strongest critics of the US ally in all of Congress.  In 2019, near the very beginning of Tlaib's congressional career, she called Israel sponsors of, "oppressive & racist policies."

Now, waves were made in Washington as US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) moved to censure the Congresswoman for her comments regarding the conflict in Israel.   Tlaib called the move, "deeply Islamophobic" and said it "attacks peaceful Jewish anti-war advocates."

Congressman Donalds when asked if he supported the censure seemed almost shocked that the question would even be asked.  Outside of Capitol Hill Donalds stated, "Her comments have been violent.  Hamas beheaded babies.  What're we talking about?  When I see Rashida I talk to her, I say hello, I have no personal animosity towards Rashida at all."  Donalds continued, "But her commentary towards our greatest ally in the region? Cmon.  If that hits the floor, I'm voting yes."
