Republicans have fared well in the 2022 midterm elections, but in the 2020 elections, the “red wave” that was expected didn’t come as planned. In a message to supporters, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R)  said that he’s “done watching Republicans lose.”

In the message, Governor DeSantis looks towards the second Republican debate in late September. In the first debate that took place in late August, DeSantis joined South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) and Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (R) in having a strong showing among Republican voters.

With Republicans looking to defeat President Joe Biden (D) in the 2024 election, DeSantis says that “the time for chirping from the sidelines is over.”

“The second GOP debate is our opportunity to reach millions of voters who can join our movement and build a better future for this country,” DeSantis said, adding that “talk is ineffective, and that’s why my message has been simple: 2024 is the time to put up or shut up.”

The DeSantis campaign has undergone a shakeup in recent months as President Donald Trump (R) continues to soar in the polls. Despite receiving praise for his performance in the August debate, DeSantis has remained in second place, trailing behind Trump.

“The American people deserve a President with a track record of taking action and standing for what’s right,” DeSantis shared, commenting that “the lack of action from our leaders across this country has gone on for far too long.”

“Joe Biden has done more to damage to our nation than anyone, and Kamala Harris has done nothing at all,” DeSantis affirmed, saying that he’s “DONE listening to excuses.”

Turning his attention to Republicans, DeSantis argued that “if Republicans want to ditch the culture of losing, then it’s time we try something new,” suggesting that there should be a focus on “giving parents back their voice in the classroom by BANNING CRT and pornographic content for young kids,” “STANDING UP against corporations who have tried to force taxpayers to fund an ESG agenda,” and “DEFEATING Faucism and giving back Floridians the freedom to breathe and see their families after the elites in DC Shut down the country.”
