Trump Blames ‘Corrupt District Attorney’ for Witch Hunt

Share

President Donald Trump (R) faced a slew of additional charges this week as he pushes through the 2024 Republican presidential primary race. Facing 91 criminal charges from five different indictments, President Trump is showing no signs of backing down from the race. Despite the legal woes, President Trump blamed the “corrupt District Attorney” for targeting him in a “witch hunt.”

Polls indicate that as Trump is hit with charges, support for his candidacy grows.

According to FiveThirtyEight’s polling average, 52.7% of Republicans now support President Trump’s campaign, which comes at the same time that an Emerson College Survey shows New Jersey Chris Christie (R) has overtaken Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) for second place in New Hampshire.

With support for President Trump’s candidacy growing, Trump continues to pushback against detractors, saying that the new indictments are an indication that “the Witch Hunt continues!”

“19 people indicated [sic] tonight, including the former President of the United States, me, by an out of control and very corrupt District Attorney who campaigned and raised money on, ‘I will get Trump,’” Trump said, questioning, “what about those indictment Documents put out today, long before the Grand Jury even voted, and then quickly withdrawn?”

Mentioning that it sounded like a “rigged” situation, Trump further questioned “why didn’t they indict 2.5 years ago? Because they wanted to do it right in the middle of my political campaign.”

Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz came to bat for Trump, saying that Vice President Al Gore (D) did “the same thing” that the Georgia prosecutor is saying was a crime under Trump.

In speaking to Fox News Digital, Dershowitz said that Trump’s actions were “very similar” to that of Gore after his election against President George W. Bush (R).

“We challenged the election, and we did much of the things that are being done and people praised us,” Dershowitz said adding that he wrote “a bestselling book called ‘Supreme Injustice. Now they’re making it a movie.”
