Mayor Suarez Suspends Presidential Campaign

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) has suspended his presidential campaign. Mayor Suarez made the announcement after failing to secure a spot on the Republican primary debate stage.

Considered a longshot candidate, Suarez joined the primary race in early June, calling himself the right candidate to bridge the political divide. He introduced an artificial intelligence chatbot for supporters to interact with, but he also faced a great deal of controversies. Ultimately, even though he positioned himself as a candidate that could gain a strong bipartisan level of support, Suarez struggled in the polls, and it culminated in him missing an opportunity to be on the debate stage last week with 8 other Republican candidates.

In a message posted on social media, the presidential hopeful announced that he would be suspending his presidential campaign while also vowing to remain involved in the election.

“Running for President of the United States has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Suarez recounted, adding that “it was a privilege to come so close to appearing on stage with the other candidates at last week’s first debate.”

“I had looked forward to sharing the story of Miami, America’s most successful city, especially at a time when so many cities are plagued with poverty, unemployment, high taxes, violence crime, and homelessness,” Suarez lamented, affirming that “the next President must play a major role in getting America’s cities back on track to safety, prosperity and a better quality of life for all.”

Even though Suarez has suspended his presidential aspirations for this election cycle, he said that he remains committed “to making this a better nation for every American.”

“The Left has taken Hispanics for granted for far too long, and it is no surprise that so many are finding a home in America’s conservative movement,” Suarez admitted, calling on Republicans to “continue doing more to include and attract the vibrant community that believes in our country’s foundational values: faith, family, hard work and freedom.”
