Americans continue to feel economic pressure under President Joe Biden. In a recent appearance on Fox Business's Kudlow, Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) minced no words when he called Biden "a disaster when it comes to economic leadership" and "not helping anybody in this country."

Host Larry Kudlow showed statistics suggesting much slower job growth under Biden at 2.1 million jobs created in 30 months compared to 4.9 million under President Trump in the same amount of time and the mortgage rate and Consumer Price Index (CPI) nearly tripling. Despite this, Biden has blamed Trump for the current state of the economy.

Rep. Donalds bluntly responded that "Joe Biden lies, this is what he does." Additionally, Rep. Donalds chastised the President and the Democratic Party for "[keeping] our economy closed for longer than it should have been," referring to the COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

"Joe Biden, when he came into office, the only thing he needed to do was go on vacation and do nothing because the building blocks that were set in place by President Trump were going to bring America back, and [Biden] has destroyed our American economy. He has been a disaster when it comes to economic leadership," said Donalds.

Referring back to the statistics, Kudlow indicated that the rising prices, mortgages, and interest rates are "killers" of the middle class. Donalds agreed, pointing to the phenomenon of bracket creep, wherein inflation pushes people into higher tax brackets without any increase in real income, as exemptions, credits, and deductions similarly become less valuable.

"As you start earning more money in our economy, there is this thing called bracket creep, and it is devastating to someone going up the income ladder. You put those things together, you are falling behind. Joe Biden is not helping anybody in this country," Donalds continued.

Kudlow then asked what could be done to reverse this economic downturn; Donalds suggested reinvesting in domestic energy production, which he and other Florida Republicans have called for, throwing in a vicious crack at the President's son Hunter and his foreign business deals.

"Let's start with actually being energy independent and using the vast amount of resources our country has. We should be using that. If energy prices are down, families can get ahead. The only families that can get ahead in Joe Biden's economy are people who are rich, or maybe Hunter Biden because he is shaking down countries all across the globe. And when you get money coming in like that, you are not worried about the price at the pump and the price in the grocery store," Donalds said.

Donalds finally called energy independence "common sense stuff, but when you are an ideologue or an idiot like the current President of the United States, the only thing you are caring about are your fat cat buddies that you are giving these tax credits [for] this Green New Deal mess and whether your son is going to be able to get more money out of Romania or Ukraine."
