Donalds, Oversight Committee Requests Records Concerning Hunter Biden on Air Force Two, Visiting Foreign Nations

In a letter written to United States Archivist Colleen Shogun, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) as well as committee member Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) are requesting the National Archives to provide “documents, communications, and manifests related to then-VP Biden’s misuse of Air Force Two and Marine Two.”

The Oversight Committee members are alleging that then-Vice President Joe Biden (D) visited and held meetings with Hunter Biden’s associates, and even allowed the President’s son to tag along while on official business.

Additionally, emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop showcased that he visited at least 15 different countries with his father.

“The Committee is concerned about then-Vice President Biden’s role in his family’s foreign business ventures and that he may have used his office to enrich his family. For example, recent reporting indicates Hunter Biden traveled to at least 15 countries with then-Vice President Biden,” Reps. Comer and Donalds wrote. “The Committee has also learned that then-Vice President Biden met with at least one of Hunter Biden’s associates in Beijing while visiting on official business. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the custodian agency of Vice-Presidential records, and the Committee seeks information regarding the use of Air Force Two by then-Vice President Biden’s family during the Obama-Biden Administration.”

They would go on to request “unrestricted special access” to records relating to President Biden’s foreign travel on Air Force Two and Marine Two during his time as Vice President.

“Then-Vice President Biden’s misuse of Air Force Two and Marine Two is indicative of yet another way in which the President has abused his various offices of public trust and wasted taxpayer money to benefit his family’s enterprise, which consisted of nothing more than access to Joe Biden himself. Devon Archer, a longtime Biden family associate, has stated it is ‘categorically false’ that Joe Biden played no role in his son’s foreign business dealings. Flights on Air Force Two around the world to seal business deals are evidence of that role.”

Recently, Rep. Donalds stated that the Department of Justice has been “obstructing justice” when relating to the investigation of Joe Biden and the Biden family.
