Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) continues to push back against his detractors. After facing protestors in Iowa, Governor DeSantis’ campaign is looking ahead to the first Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In calling for support, the campaign reassured that only the American people will decide the election and not the media.

In recent weeks, Governor DeSantis has been struggling in all the national public polls while chiming in on an ongoing rivalry with President Donald Trump (R). President Trump is leading Governor DeSantis in the polls, and though Trump has chosen to sit out the debate, DeSantis has signed a pledge to support the Republican primary nominee – even if it’s Trump.

Over the weekend, Republican candidates took to Iowa to campaign and enlist further support. Though DeSantis was met with protestors that included Trump supporters, DeSantis remains committed to taking on President Joe Biden (D) in the upcoming election.

His campaign is now reaffirming that pledge by reminding the American people that they should not be swayed by other entities.

In an email directed to supporters, the team reminded supporters that “this presidential election won’t be decided by the corporate media, the DC elites, or the woke mob.”

“Governor DeSantis is cutting through the attacks and the lies and keeping focus on what matters: EARNING your support,” the Team added, citing recent controversies regarding DeSantis.

“Joe Biden and the woke mob have abused power in Washington, D.C., for the past 3 years,” they commented, adding that Biden administration policies have negatively affected the country. This includes “upending the economy with record inflation,” which has resulted in “making it harder than ever to afford a house, gas for your car, or even just a carton of eggs.”

Most recently DeSantis faced criticism for saying he has “moved on” from his rivalry with Disney.

Taking to social media, Florida Rep. Anna V. Eskamani (D) said this was an example of when “Mr. Never Backs Down.. backs down.”
