Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), South Carolina Nikki Haley (R), and Vivek Ramaswamy (R) received glowing reviews for their performances at the Republican primary debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. However, the DeSantis campaign is pulling no punches at it tries to take advantage of the response. In a message to supporters, DeSantis argues that the country has a choice between “freedom or decline.”
Since releasing his book earlier this year, Governor DeSantis has made it clear that the United States could benefit from following the Florida playbook. As he warned in the Republican primary debate, the country finds itself in a moment of “decline” that must quickly be addressed.
In reaching out to supporters, DeSantis mentioned that “leadership matters,” and this leadership is what has bolstered Florida into a powerhouse.
Citing that Florida “ranks as the number one economy in the country by CNBC,” “ranks number one for new business formations,” “ranks number one for net in-migration,” “ranks number one for economic growth amongst large states,” and “has an unemployment rate that is a percentage point below the national average and even lower than other large states like California and New York” among other raving statistics, DeSantis directs criticism at President Joe Biden (D) for not displaying leadership.
“We have a President who is floundering and bowing down to his own party instead of doing what is right for the American people,” claims DeSantis, further criticizing that Biden “has consistently bent the knee to the woke mob.”
“These radical policies across the nation are making it nearly impossible for hardworking families to achieve the American Dream,” he stated, adding that it’s not about becoming President. Instead, he is “running to DO things as President and from Day One we are going to rip up disastrous policies that are harming American families and REVERSE the decline Joe Biden has let fester in this country.”
