Wasserman Schultz Rounds up 102 House Democrats to Condemn RFK Jr.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) joined a large number of House Democrats in condemning Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s appearance before Congress on Thursday, citing his “dangerous antisemitic and anti-Asian conspiracy theories.”

The letter, sent to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), requests that RFK Jr.’s invitation to the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing be rescinded on the grounds of his “baseless and discriminatory views.”

Rep. Wasserman Schultz sits on the Weaponization Subcommittee and has accredited herself as one of the leaders of the letter’s construction.

“Mr. Kennedy has repeatedly and recently spread vile and dangerous antisemitic and anti-Asian conspiracy theories that tarnish his credibility as a witness and must not be legitimized with his appearance before the U.S. Congress nor given the platform of an official committee hearing to spread his baseless and discriminatory views,” 102 House Democrats wrote.

The legislators would go on to mention RFK Jr. asserted that COVID-19 was designed to “target specific races” such as Caucasians and African-Americans and spare “Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people.”

“By promoting the unfounded notion that scientists are developing bioweapons that can target certain races and exempt others, while referring to Jews as a separate race, Mr. Kennedy is employing a pernicious form of antisemitism that has been used for centuries… Mr. Kennedy has repeatedly attacked two groups that have long been subject to deadly discrimination. His own credibility as a witness is nonexistent. Allowing Mr. Kennedy to serve as a witness before the Select Subcommittee only services to legitimize his antisemitic and anti-Asian views. We therefore request that Mr. Kennedy be removed from the witness list for the upcoming hearing on July 20, 2023,” concluded the House Democrats.

Kennedy, a long-time vaccine skeptic, released a statement regarding those alleging he is an anti-Semite.

“Grateful for support from the Jewish community. They know I’m not anti-Semite. There is plenty of real anti-Semitism out there – let’s not cheapen the term with false accusations. #Kennedy24” said Kennedy.

He is currently polling at nine percent in a St. Anselm College poll in New Hampshire, according to The Hill.
