After the House Oversight Committee's hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business's Evening Edit to discuss the aftermath, saying, "We have clear evidence of the politicization of the Department of Justice."

Director Wray's responses to questions by members of Congress were evidence of him "trying to deflect," according to Rep. Steube, with subjects of questioning ranging from the January 6th investigation to the FISA corruption scandal to the ongoing probes into President Joe and his son Hunter Biden.

"[Wray] is trying to deflect. He is trying not to answer the questions directly to members like [Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA)], who you just had on, asked him directly. We have clear evidence of the politicization of the Department of Justice, from everything from the January 6th investigations to investigating private citizens to the Trump-Russia collusion hoax that went on for years, over a million individuals have been illegally surveilled through the FISA process... You have case after case and evidence after evidence of this FBI weaponizing the enforcement arm of our government for political purposes," said Rep. Steube.

Host Maria Bartiromo shifted to the apparent stonewalling of investigations into the Bidens. Gary Shapley and an unidentified whistleblower from the IRS alleged the FBI, Department of Justice, and IRS prevented the investigative team from pursuing leads alleged to implicate Joe and Hunter Biden. "They were not following normal protocol," described Steube, adding Shapley and the other whistleblower were denied warrants and subpoenas to pursue leads.

"They were completely deflecting and delaying. One of the things that really impressed me was there were felonies that the Department of Justice and the FBI delayed the IRS investigation for years. These are crimes that happened in 2014, specifically so that the statute of limitations would toll and the government would not be able to charge Hunter Biden with these crimes," Steube continued.

Finally, Steube expressed sympathy for rank-and-file members of the FBI, those who "just want to do their job" and "do not want to see politicization."

"Unfortunately, the politicization starts all the way at the President and works its way down where they have used the law enforcement of the Department of Justice and the FBI as the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party, to be the weaponization and politicization in those different agencies. The American people are not going to stand for it, and we are going to continue to investigate this and bring all that information before the American people," Steube concluded.

Early in July, Steube spoke with Fox's Neil Cavuto on restoring trust in the FBI and DOJ, which he said would have to be a product of time and a new President.
