DeSantis Staffer Jabs Trump at the Expense of a Holocaust Survivor

Share

As his 2024 presidential campaign is in the middle of an unprecedented reboot because of money woes and dipping poll numbers,  Governor Ron DeSantis’s Rapid Response Director Christina Pushaw appears to have gone off script again. This past Saturday night, Pushaw found it funny to take a swipe at former President Donald Trump at the expense of a Holocaust survivor that lost his entire life savings.

In response to a CNN story about a woman who was sentenced to 51 months in prison for stealing $2.8 million from the Holocaust survivor, Pushaw tweeted, “Trump 2028 campaign is gonna hire her when she gets out.”

Pushaw’s tweet appears to be an attempt to jab President Trump regarding the tens of millions of dollars his Save America Super PAC has spent on the former president’s legal fees and the legal fees of others.

Pushaw and DeSantis's online “influencers” have been espousing that Trump’s campaign fundraising efforts have been one big grift to pay for his legal fees.

Trump supporters never thought that their donations were going to go to pay legal fees, so the angle of attack against Trump is valid, but to use the swindling of a Holocaust survivor just to try to land a political punch is pretty low.

This is not the first (and probably won’t be the last either) that Pushaw has made a controversial remark on social media.

Recently, The Floridian learned that Pushaw was “reprimanded” by DeSantis for posting questionable tweets.

With DeSantis’s campaign struggling to reboot, could Pushaw’s continue to fuel the narrative that his campaign is ran by a bunch of amateurish staffers with hardly any campaign experience, and will further sink his chances of winning the Republican presidential nomination?
