Johnston, Iowa- Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis launched a ‘Mamas for DeSantis’ coalition to aid Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign.

The coalition was announced on July 6, 2023 during a campaign event co-hosted by Casey DeSantis and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

The event was DeSantis’ first solo public campaign outing.

“It’s one thing what your policies come after us as mamas,” DeSantis said. “It’s another thing when your policies come after our children. And that’s when the claws come out.”

‘Mamas for DeSantis’ was also announced via a political advertisement. Focusing on apparent pandemic-era government overreach, educational indoctrination, and the erosion of parental rights.

DeSantis explained mothers’ mission to “not allow you to exploit the innocence of our children to advance your agenda.”

“When you come after our kids, we fight back. We are no longer silent. We are united. We are Mamas for DeSantis. ...and we will elect @RonDeSantis President of the United States,” stated DeSantis.

Florida has led the nation regarding protective parental rights measures. Scores of laws were passed During DeSantis’ governorship curtailing the government’s ability to instill values or ideas in children antithetical to those held or desired by their parents. Such political initiatives were widely popular amongst voters.

DeSantis’ campaign seeks to dip into pools of voters anxiously watching their children’s education become more and more politicized. Recently, groups such as Moms for Liberty mirror the national worry shared by parents over deftly progressive classroom instruction.
